License 2 Trill
Forget 007. Club night License 2 Trill is on the move and rocking up at the capital’s iconic The 100 Club on Saturday night – for your eyes only.
The legendary Oxford Street club becomes the new home for the popular East London club night on April 4th, and the inaugural party is going to be a big one thanks to a headline DJ set from Salute (Affine Records). Known as the night that brings the best in rap, trap, grime and beats plus a little more, this License 2 Trill shouldn’t disappoint with JD.Reid, Motive, CWD, Jetsss, Nick Bam & Lily Mercer (Rinse FM / Viper) also lined up to take turns on the decks until 3am.
With a roll call that deep, Salute should have no trouble finishing off the dancefloor with his hypnotic, dusted and deep grooves, surely making it a fittingly soulful way to welcome in the early hours of Easter Sunday. Based in Vienna, Austria, the Affine Records label and artist collective has been providing headphone music for dancefloors since 2008, and is home to the likes of Dorian Concept, Cid Rim, Okmalumkoolkat, Wandl and The Clonious – most of whom will be rocking this year’s The Great Escape festival in Brighton.
And you’re heading over from the East, don’t sleep on The 100 Club. It’s one of the oldest independent venues in the world, with everyone from the Sex Pistols to Toots and the Maytals having graced its stage. Today, the venue still showcases some of the most exciting new music in London with recent shows from artists such as Blood Orange, The Horrors, Fat White Family, Parquet Courts, Kindness and Joey Bada$$.
