Synchronise your watches! Because with barely a week to go until Visions festival conquers Hackney we are thrilled to announce who’s playing where and when.
It’s worth paying attention folks, because the one-day jamboree takes place on Saturday August 6th across a beguiling variety of warehouse venues, art spaces, courtyards rooftops, churches and outdoor areas in London Fields.
This year’s line-up includes exciting performances from Jessy Lanza, Elf Kid, Aldous Harding, Babeheaven, Lindstrom, Mykki Blanco and Iglooghost – among many others. And with so many music choices on offer at the flash of a wristband we expect you to choose responsibly.
This year’s festival also includes a new venue in Mangle. But don’t be fooled, the Warburton Road spot just has a new name as it was called Laundry last year. You can call it whatever you want – it still boasts one helluva bill with Ulrika Spacek, Show Me the Body, Bleached and Gengahr all setting up the night’s biggest performance from the wild California drum-and- bass punk mavericks Lightning Bolt. Ouch.
Or if you prefer your festival a bit more soulful head over to the St John at Hackney church in Lower Clapton Road as Welsh pop wunderkid Cate Le Bon, Edinburgh-based rap trio Young Fathers and Bronx disco funk legends ESG will aim to please.
But wait, wait, wait… We don’t mean to suggest that music is the only offering on the day. Because in true eclectic Visions style there will also be a craft beer and street food festival, a dog show and screen print workshops, amongst other exciting events throughout the day.
Hell, you might even learn something. Even if it’s how to roll a cigarette while juggling two beers and a burrito as you navigate down Mare Street.
Visions festival comes to London Fields on Saturday August 6th . Final tickets £35 from: www.visionsfestival.com
