Last month Twen released their latest single ‘Baptism’, a resplendent, resonant psych-tinged track that calls to mind the blissful sounds of Wild Nothing melded with the dream-pop of Cocteau Twins imbued with a shoegaze edge and then some. Basically, they have a sound that very much defies any genre definitions. After two years of nonstop touring, the duo is set to release their debut album Awestruck on September 20th. We caught up with Twen ahead of their show with TACOCAT at Moth Club next Thursday.

A truly DIY duo, Jane Fitzsimmons and Ian Jones met and formed the band in the Boston DIY punk scene. They then spent the past two years touring off the back of their EP, which they recorded from their first-ever live show together in a Boston basement. Defying industry standards and very much keeping the DIY ethos at the heart Twen has rightfully been gathering acclaim for their distinct sonic blend, and they certainly prove that doing things your own way pays off.

Ahead of playing Moth Club with the equally joyous TACOCAT on August 29th, we caught up with the now Nashville-based duo.
