We get to know your new favourite dynamic alt-rock dazzlers, Brighton four-piece, Thyla.

Having received huge support from national media with immense applause for the raw energy of their live shows – including a recent headline triumph at London’s Sebright Arms – Brighton’s Thyla are beginning to make waves crashing much further than simply the shore of their seaside town. With a divine blend of shoegazey post-punk and glossy pop hooks, the quartet’s ethereal melodies and distorted, glittering guitar sonics ooze glamour and power, while a punk attitude liberates the individual through the fierce celebration of originality. Think the gothic garage-rock of The Horrors with the pop vocal and new wave semblance of Blondie, and you’ve got the can’t-go-wrong recipe for Thyla.
