If you’re not yet familiar with Soleima then rest assured you’ll be hearing a lot more from this Scandinavian pop sensation. We caught up with the rising electro-pop artist to get to know a little more about her.

On her latest single Soleima offers glistening, honeyed melodies imbued with melancholy as ‘Cheers For The Tears’ sees her deliver a break-up track of pristine pop proportions. Joined by up-and-coming producer Vasco, the track’s shimmering instrumentation and smooth beats meld gloriously with Soleima’s candied, self-assured vocals. A pensive, honest, and dazzling slice of pop goodness enjoy ‘Cheers For The Tears’ right here.

Get to know Soleima In Short…

Three words to describe my music…

Garage funk-pop 🙂

Last photo on your phone…

You are going to get two: The first one is a picture from a photoshoot I recently did in LA with an amazing photographer called Darren Ankenman – very fun and VERY warm!

The second pic is of Madonna – just look at that :)!!! I was so inspired and moved when I found it recently. It has such a strong and empowering vibe, I think.

Favourite Instagram account…

Right now, I love the Instagram account of the new Danish brand ‘IconVision’. The vibe is beautiful and the clothes are to die for. <3

The best venue I’ve played…

I once played at a greenhouse in Copenhagen with a string quartet, which was really magical for me. Also, this summer I got to play a song with MØ on Orange Stage at Roskilde Festival. For Danes, that is a really special stage and something you really want to try as a musician. A great honor to ‘steal’ it for a sec with wonderful MØ!

Earliest song you remember…

A Danish lullaby that my mom used to sing for me.

The worst job I’ve ever had…

Haha, in a bakery! It sucked and I had to get up super early every weekend.

Favourite food on tour…

Anything healthy. You often feel a little unhealthy on tour, so eating stuff that’s good for you is definitely what you need.

My Favourite word…

Self-care

Things that cheer me up…

My friends and family – probably a common answer, but true! Also, watching football (preferably a Liverpool match!)

If I could play a gig anywhere it would be…

I would loooove to play at the Sydney Opera House. The architecture has always fascinated me.

I think you should listen to…

Ryan Beatty, Kali Uchis, Brockhampton.

If I could see anyone play live it would be…

Probably The Beatles, if I can pick dead people?! Otherwise I would love to see Solange live.

Soleima’s new single, “Cheers for the Tears”, is out now HERE.
