With their debut album Moveys out now, we caught up with Slow Pulp’s Emily Massey to talk tiny dogs in crocs, Zadie Smith, and quiche.
Across Moveys, Slow Pulp captures a tender, resplendent magic with their emotive and meandering lo-fi shoegaze. Massey’s dulcet, delicate vocals are utterly spellbinding as her introspective lyricism gracefully glides through a fusion of intricate melodies and gentle percussion, sprawling, driving basslines and fuzz-laden riffs. A record that documents personal growth and resilience in the face of adversity, the life-long friendship at the band’s core offers a tangible strength and unity that Slow Pulp channel through Moveys, resulting in a gracefully powerful and cathartic release.
