With a sound the feels reminiscent of fellow pop contemporaries such as Robyn, Sia, and Lorde, RVBY is very much a pop star in the making. Releasing her third single ‘Hanging On’ today, we caught up with her to find out about some of the tracks that influenced her effervescent sound.

Showcasing a prowess for crafting shimmering, emotive pop ‘Hanging On’ is at once fresh and timeless in that particular way that the best kind of pop tracks are. Following on from previous singles ‘L.O.V.E’ and ‘Honey Bee’, the Bristol artist’s latest single purveys an infectious radiance by way of RVBY’s soaring, dulcet vocals and rising, swirling melodies.

Very much an artist to watch out for, find out more about RVBY and some of the tracks that have influenced her here.

Dagny – Wearing Nothing

My guitarist, Jack, introduced me to Dagny with a live version of this song. I found myself figuring out the magic behind why I couldn’t get it out of my head for the next week .. simplicity is genius!

Aurora – The River

I am so thankful to Spotify for sneaking an Aurora track into my suggestions. The River is her latest single and since hearing it I haven’t stopped writing new music. She makes me feel!

Sigrid – Don’t Kill My Vibe

I just had to put a Sigrid song in here. She is such an inspiration behind my journey from Country to Pop music and one of the first modern pop artists I listened to, danced to and thought that’s it – that’s where I want to be.

Lorde – Green Light

I remember hearing this song for the first time and thinking she’s got it so right! It’s one of those impossible to not sing along to tracks. Who wouldn’t want their music to be exactly that?!

Fleetwood Mac- Go Your Own Way

Just a great song init.
