Review // Deap Vally – Sistronix

sistronUniversal Island // Out Now

Clutter is a concept that Deap Vally might not even grasp if the spareness of ‘Sistrionix’ is anything to go by. The LA drums-and-riffs duo (so LA, in fact, that they look like forgotten members of The Runaways) make this their calling card on a debut with guitars that frankly have no right to be that loud on any self-respecting major label record. Whether rallying listeners to arms with the opening war cry of ‘End Of The World’ or delivering a whipsmart ode to one night stands on ‘Walk Of Shame’, their raucous blues rock rarely forgets to bring the party.
