The next instalment of JA JA JA takes place on 13th February and boasts yet another incredible line-up of the finest up and coming Nordic talent. Ahead of the night, we caught up with the spellbinding Red Moon, who makes her UK debut, to get to know her In Short.

Having spent much of her childhood travelling, Red Moon’s songs weave intricate narratives imbued with emotive warmth that carve out a space of her own. Currently splitting her time between the faster-pace of city life in Oslo and the tranquillity of Nittedal, a town just northeast of Oslo, she draws on these environments to create her own sonic cosmos within her music. Her sublime new single ‘Dogma’ is out now.

Also joining the bill is Finnish musician and producer Detalji, whose brooding, atmospheric electro-pop offers hypnotic dance beats and soaring melodic vocals. Plus Danish four-piece Yung makes a return to playing shows after taking a little time out; expect to hear plenty more from them this year.

The best venue I’ve played…

I love playing in venues that are surrounded by nature or art, like when I played in the swiss alps at Zermatt Unplugged or ancient buildings with a history like Kloster Limburg in Bad Dürkheim.

Earliest song you remember…

My lullaby song, that my mom wrote and used to sing to me.

The worst job I’ve ever had…

I’ve had several side jobs, some were also cool ones. I mostly worked in the service industry and the exhibitions were the really draining ones. Not due to the jobs themselves but rather some of the customers. Being a female in the service industry is never “just” fun. I am a pretty upbeat but also forthright person, and whenever I see someone is being mistreated I get very protective, and won’t stay quiet.

Favourite food on tour…

Little dishes but lots of them, like tapas, with plates of cheese and good bread.

My Favourite word…

Sonder

Things that cheer me up…

My friends!! Homemade pizza of my younger brother or a wine evening with my mom. Burning scented oils, dancing by myself listening to my vinyl records. Aaaand good showers with Aesop. 😉

If I could play a gig anywhere it would be…

The Nobel-Peace- Prize Concert in Oslo.

I think you should listen to…

Wow, it’s impossible to just pick one, I can narrow down to eight.
