Sydney-based trio PVT are returning with new album New Spirit and, with their new single ‘Morning Mist, Rock Island Bend’, offer us a sample of what to expect from their warped vocals and ambient electronica this time around for album number five. Listen below:

Ahead of a show at Kamio on April 19th, we had a quick catch up with PVT’s Richard Pike.

My favourite film ever is…
Probably Blade Runner. Favourite comedy film: Commando.

The most famous person I’ve met is…
Brian Eno or David Byrne, not sure who is more famous.

The best venue I’ve played so far is…
We played in a football stadium in Livorno, Italy. That was pretty good.

The song I hate the most is…
I agree with Ween: It’s 4 Non Blondes “What’s Up”

The worst job I’ve ever had is…
I worked a lot in retail when I was young, which I guess isn’t so bad, but after a while it sucked.

If I was in a tribute band it would be a…
Talking Heads. Or Guns N Roses. You’d get more gigs with a Gunners tribute.

My Favourite word is…
Baby.

If I had a super power I’d want it to be…
Coping with no sleep

If I could play a gig anywhere it would be…
Wish I could’ve played on David Letterman. Too late.

I think you should listen to…
Hiroshi Yoshimura. Bill Callahan.

If I could see anyone play live it would be…
Jean Michel Jarre or Vangelis. While they’re still alive.

PVT play Kamio on 19th April.
