We get to know more about Nashe xx ahead of his performance at The Great Escape.

Singer, songwriter, producer and creator of his own moody visuals, Nashe xx is an up-and- coming artist with a unique sound and bright future. His debut EP Monday – released in October 2017 – showcased his hazy, moody R&B palette with trap inflections. Raised in Sheffield, following the release of his EP Nashe xx was snapped up by Future Bubblers, an initiative set up by Gilles Peterson and funded by Arts Council England. It’s a project that focuses on nurturing talent outside of London, giving each successful applicant an industry mentor to help kick-start their career.

With a soulful tone reminiscent of The Weeknd when he sings and a sharp rap vocal, the young artist also produced the visual to go alongside the EP which was premiered by Complex. He’s also been developing his material into the live setting, playing with a band for a Brownswood basement session. He’ll be bringing this live show to The Great Escape in May, where he’ll play alongside other Future Bubblers in their showcase.
