This week we head for Melt Festival in Germany, and even if you’re not going you’ll appreciate this carefully curated mix of brilliant tracks that we’re look forward to seeing live 🙌

For this Melt Festival preview, we wanted to write a little about all the bands we were excited to see at the festival this year. But then you look at that line-up and it’s just impossible – no one needs a breakdown of every act on the line-up. Instead we’ve put all our favourites into the playlist below. Stick it on and soak up the resplendent mix of electronic brilliance from the likes of George Fitzgerald, Nina Kraviz, Haai and more; together with some of the best pop acts around, Kali Uchis, Alma, Superorganism. It’s like an ice cream topped off with the weird and wonderful Fever Ray, Tyler The Creator and Princess Nokia shaped sprinkles.

As if the line-up wasn’t perfectly curated enough, Melt Festival is located in a city of iron – better know as Ferriopolis, an ex-coal mine that is now park lake, part festival site and all beautiful. A site full of surprises and unlike any other, it’s pure escapism at its best. Listen below to find out what we’re most excited for at the festival.

Last year the organisers told us:

“Melt never took place directly in Berlin but even before it moved to the iconic venue Ferropolis next to Bauhaus-City Dessau it always had a strong Berlin feel to it. 24 hours freedom. Since it started, electronic music influencers from Ben Klock, Ellen Allien or Modeselektor are still present pretty much every year. From 2004 we consequently started to mix up all sorts of genres and opened the festival to people who have a good taste in music, not just for electronic music, but our heartbeat always was electronic and always will be. Guests from the past included icons from Oasis, Björk, Aphex Twin, Massive Attack or Pet Shop Boys, looking forward to the next 20 years.”

Melt Festival takes places at Ferriopolis from 13th – 15th July
