Victoria Park – July 17th & 18th
The epic, annual, two-day festival is back. You know exactly what I’m talking about. It doesn’t even need an introduction but here goes anyway: July 17th and 18th will see Lovebox revellers taking over Victoria Park once again to a soundtrack of both new, nostalgic and summer-ready tunes from some of the best talent in the music industry.
Expect 2015’s event to massively better last year’s experience. Why? Firstly because Hackney quartet Rudimental are headlining the first day and legendary hip-hop talent Snoop Dogg the next. Secondly because the music on offer varies hugely from pure grime to bass, while staying in line with the brand’s origins that lie firmly planted in the dance scene. You’ll have to contend with Hot Chip, David Rodigan, Groove Armada, Mark Ronson and an immersive DJ set from the renowned producer Bonobo. And if that’s not enough, how do Goldie, Jackmaster, Shy FX and Novelist sound? Check out the full line up here.
In addition, this year the promoters are going that one step further to ensure there’s something for everyone. Music aside, there’s set to be a whole host of otherworldly experiences and ‘extracurriculars’ at one of the best day festivals in the UK’s capital city. Think audiovisual delights and interactive installations. There’s set to be art and technology “data visualisers” Fish Island Labs getting the crowds thinking and interacting, Chris Tofu (AKA the Shangri-La superstar) and Little Gay Brother will be bringing a bit of Vegas glamour to the party. How fabulous.
These two days of absolute bangers, dancing and fun are always good, but this year the promoters really have stepped up their game. By bringing in the cream of the music crop and adding a little je ne sais quois with additional activities, Lovebox 2015 is sure to attract an even more fashionable, positive and up-for-it crowd than last year.
Haven’t got your ticket? Get to it pronto. If last year’s stats that show the show sold out in advance to a record audience of 80,000 is anything to go by, this time round the event will be a 100% sell out in no time at all. As the Rudimental boys put it so perfectly, “We’re so happy to announce we’re back on the Lovebox stage this summer. London, are you ready?!”.
