Jensen Sportag – Stealth of Days // Album Review

stealth_coverCascine // November 12th

One of Nashville’s more unlikely exports, Jensen Sportag proved their might with a handful of Hype Machine-ready remixes. Their first release of original tracks plays out like a collection of R&B slow jams given the house treatment, while crucially avoiding the clichés that seem so rampant in the current crop of electronic music. In eschewing big peaks and repetitive beats for smart arrangements and guitar licks so funky they make Nile Rodgers look about as cool as George McFly circa 1955, the pair have carved out a sort of accidental concept album – songs for post-Skins youth in all their late night, drug-taking, love-making glory.
