Holy Strays // In Short

Holy-Strays-press-shot

Having spent the first half of this month on tour opening for Suuns, it’s safe to say Holy Strays is a different kind of electronic musician, not that he’s not for fans of Fout Tet, Weatherall and the like, he is, but he definitely brings something a bit different to the table. Hailing from Paris, his debut EP (listen below) came out earlier this year, with it’s unusual samples, warm beats and varied influences it’s got us all excited for what’s to come next from this incredibly talented artist.

Holy Strays joins The Field, Adult., Lapalux and more at Oval Space on November 29th (buy tickets), so we asked him some questions about his likes, love and hates:

If I had to describe my music in 3 words, I’d use…

Hardest question ever… I usually call it devotional music

My favourite film ever is…

Dead Man by Jim Jarmusch

The most famous person I’ve met is…

Anselm Kiefer

The song I hate the most is…

Any Guetta production

The Worst Job I’ve ever had is…

Selling Disney clothes in a parisian shop, for real

If I was in a tribute band it would be a…

Sun Ra tribute band, and I’d be playing drums for sure

If I had a super power I’d want it to be…

Flying

If I could play a gig anywhere it would be…

An ancient cathedral

I think you should listen to…

Robedoor – I just toured with them and was literally blown away by the intensity of their live set

If I see anyone play live it would be…

SWANS
