After what feels like a lot longer than two years Happyness has returned and we’re pretty happy about it. To mark their very welcome return, the sensational Ash Kenazi has picked a quality selection of five influential tracks featuring Lizzo, Dorian Electra and more.
The band’s line-up may have changed somewhat since their last shows, but the fuzzy, earnest alt-rock bangers we all know and love them for are very much still at the core. And this short run of shows is the first chance many people will get to see Ash, on drums, as an utterly entrancing, commanding Queen, incorporating his drag performance into the live Happyness experience. Having caught them at their Bristol show on Monday we can verify that this all makes for a mighty good gig.
To celebrate the very welcome return of Happyness, we got the wonderfully charismatic and effervescent Ash Kenazi to select five tracks for us.
If you’re lucky enough to have a ticket to their sold-out show at Windmill Brixton tonight or for End Of The Road then you can catch them there!

Responsible for setting off most of my nights at the Five Bells (RIP).
Nomalizo – Letta Mbulu
Der Groove ist echt
Lady Solinas – Pottery
Saw Pottery at Green Man and it blew my darned socks off.
