Hannah Peel – Fabric State // EP Review

hannah peelMy Own Pleasure // February 24th

Fabricstate is the kind of record only Hannah Peel could have made. It’s the sound of an incredibly versatile and uniquely creative musician maturing into the fully assured author hinted at on 2011’s full length ‘The Broken Wave’. Seamlessly blending warm organic analogue sonics with gently pulsating electronic elements it creeps into your conscious mind at a deliciously slow pace. First track ‘Silk Road’, built around delicate strings and soft vocal refrains, is the perfect opener but it’s on ‘Desolation Row’ and ‘Chloe’ that Fabricstate really comes into its own, Peel’s flare for drama so perfectly captured in these demanding, insistent and intensely emotional creations.
