Ahead of their performance at Visions, get weird with Free Love’s extreme dance anthems…

Free Love are Suzi Rodden and Lewis Cook, the duo formally known as Happy Meals hailing from Glasgow. They call themselves the love party utopia crystal salutation cult, offering up, in their own words, pure unfiltered NRG.

Their first major release, 2018’s Luxury Hits EP, leans to 80s synth a la The Human League while still feeling fresh. Buoyant rhythms and catchy melodies make Luxury Hits a gleaming piece of electronic pop.

In our latest In Five, the playful Glasgow pair select their favourite extreme dance anthems ahead of their show at this year’s Visions Festival where they’ll play Pickle Factory on the same bill as the likes of Master Peace, Rina Mushonga, and Beshken.

From Giant Swan to Silver Apples, get weird with Free Love below.

ROB ACID – HAPPY ANSWER

909, 606 and 303.  Nothing more, nothing less.  Annoying and beautiful in equal measures.  Someone has uploaded a video of Scottish sitcom, Still Game with this track on top of it which adds special sentiment to this song.

SILVER APPLES – I HAVE KNOWN LOVE

Amazing to think that Silver Apples made this track using four broken doorbells.  An enduring inspiration to us all.

APHRODITES CHILD – DO IT

Ripping satanic jam from Greek’s best prog children.  Hard not to let the demons possess you when this one kicks in.

ROMEO TAYLOR – KINGDOM OF SCOTLAND

In a few years time, children in an independent Scotland will sing this in assemblies while their parents watch on with tears in their eyes.

GIANT SWAN – PAX BRITANNICA

Two ex-conjoined twins who now only communicate when forced to through the means of raw squelches and bleeps. EXTREME in all the best ways.

Free Love play Visions Festival on Saturday 3rd August.
