Get excited for the summer with all the latest news on one of our favourite weekends of the year. Field Day is back and better than ever.
It’s all change this year for London’s festival landscape. One such change is our beloved Field Day upping sticks and moving south of the river to Brixton’s Brockwell Park. To make your Monday a lot less Monday-ish, we’re very pleased to present to you Field Day’s excellent first line up announcement.
A change from the 2017 edition, this year’s Field Day will re-expand to two days; Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd June. In a U.K. exclusive performance, Friday’s headliner is the incomparable Erykah Badu. The queen of contemporary soul will be joined by the likes of NAO, Madlib and Loyle Carner.
The Barn – the vast extra-terrestrial indoor stage that played host to the mighty Aphex Twin and was, for many, the undisputed highlight of 2017 – makes a welcome return on the Saturday. Due to the nature of sound restrictions in the capital, you can be hard-pressed to come across truly good sound at a London festival. The Barn made up for this in a very big way, and we can’t wait to soak up Four Tet’s stunning live show as he headlines the second day. Saturday’s programme will also feature the imitable Nils Frahm, another U.K. exclusive in the form of the incredible Fever Ray, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Avalon Emerson and so much more.
We’ve picked a couple of records from a handful of the artists in today’s announcement below. Scroll down for the full line up and the all-important ticket link.
