Part of this year’s Future Bubblers programme, Damos Room have just dropped their first instalment of DR Viewings – a series of original mixes taking us deep into the collective’s weird, visionary sonic world.

DR Viewings #1 takes us on an eerie, spectral and surreal journey into an eclectic collage of found sounds. Thick, gloopy beats echo amidst menacing ambient drone lo-fi, sonorous hip-hop weaves into the mix along with the warped, nonchalant flow of Rex Domino’s bars. Throughout the mix the trio’s absurdism and singular experimentalism abound as they bookend the twenty-something minutes with distorted “Boat Poem” voice clips and end on an uncannily cheery melodic ditty.

Comprised of Rex Domino (on lyrics and vocals) and writers/producers Pondoo and Polar Kid, Damos Room are mentored by Kay Wrate of Warp Publishing as part of Giles Peterson’s Future Bubblers scheme. Whilst the trio work on their first full-length release they’ll be putting out their new mix series monthly; comprised of entirely original material, the series acts as space for Damos Room test out new sounds, collaborations and more encapsulating and introducing us to the collective’s fluid left-field artistry.
