Hipsters Don’t Dance and Manchester label Swing Ting join forces to kick start your Carnival weekend. Kazabon and Hootie Who are Hipster Don’t Dance, they bring carnival ready selections which combine their love of dancehall, soca and club music. Swing Ting started in 2008 as a party at beloved Manchester venue Soup Kitchen, and they’ve since expanded into a label with releases from the likes of Murlo and Equinoxx. Expect a raucous celebration of soundsystem music as they invite extended family member Famous Eno as special guest.

What’s a bank holiday without a Secretsundaze party? The dyamic duo takeover Oval Space for a marathon 14 hour party with Nick the Record and Donna Leake taking over the terrace. Off the back of a show at the mighty Panorama Bar and with their NTS show going from strength to strength, it’s been another strong year of parties for Giles Smith and James Priestly. No stranger to Secretsundaze, master selector Marcellus Pittmann headlines, with Chicago’s Sadar Bahar making his debut appearance, they are also joined by Rhythm Section boss man Bradley Zero.

When you’re inside the speakers, Mister Saturday Night ask that you do not take photos and stay off your phone. The dancefloor is for dancing. This bank holiday Sunday Eamon Harkin and Justin Carter are throwing a Mister Sunday day party in a Victorian building in Bethnal Green, home to a basement bathhouse and a boxing gymnasium. Mister Saturday Night parties are a unique experience, expect selections from across the spectrum of genres, played to an engaged crowd who are full of love.

Guaranteed fire every year, the Swamp81 Carnival party returns. Run by DMZ’s Loefah, this year it’s an extra heavyweight line up featuring many of the Swamp81 family. The label was named after the stop and search laws implemented in Brixton that led to 1981’s race riots. Swamp81 celebrates the roots of dance music, a back to basics sound with a focus on bass and rhythm. Catch their weekly Rinse show on Thursdays from 7pm to 9pm in preparation.
