With a new EP out and a UK tour kicking off, we caught up with Banfi ahead of their show at Moth Club on 17th November.

Banfi create a nervous and off-kilter sound, blending a deep streak of melancholic sentimentality with rhythmically infectious indie rock. Their new EP The Marlow was released at the end of October and they’ve since embarked on a UK tour after completing five dates in Europe.

Banfi simultaneously bring to mind the out of step anthems of The Police, the arena punch of Biffy Clyro alongside some of the 21st centurys more idiosyncratic indie heroes like Bombay Bicycle Club and Foals.

Band member Joe answered a few quick fire questions ahead of their show at Moth Club on 17th November.

We’re gutted we missed the Jon Hopkins Singularity album launch in London earlier this year. Wish we hadn’t missed that one. Would love to have seen Peter Gabriel back in the late 80s. Also sad we missed Kate Bush do that run of shows in London recently. If she does that again we’ll definitely get tickets.
