With their latest single ‘Push’, released today, Melbourne-based duo ALTA crafts dancefloor-ready beats that instantly transport you away from daily mundanities to dusky, sultry nights. We caught up with ALTA to find out a little more about them and their aptly self-described “emotional dance music”.

Having just announced the release of their debut record Reasons in November, the duo has been going from strength to strength with each of their singles. Comprised of Hannah Lesser and Jules Dowson, ALTA holds a particular prowess for purveying deeply emotive swathes of pared-down R&B and soaring electronica that feel as much ready for the club as moments of tender intimacy. On their new single ‘Push’ Hannah expresses, “Push is about someone trying to play games but they aren’t any good at it and I can see right through. It’s funny to me when someone thinks they’re pulling the strings but they’re tying themselves in knots.”

To coincide with the release of their new track, we get to know ALTA In Short…
