We said it before and we’ll say it again – ALMA is not your average pop star.

The 20-year-old Finnish powerhouse of pop is on her way to The Great Escape festival in Brighton later this week.

She describes herself as giving ‘zero fucks’. That’s not entirely true, of course, as she certainly cares about her music and has worked hard to fashion her powerful voice into a force to be reckoned with. Just check out her burgeoning fan base online.

ALMA has clocked up more than 100 million combined Spotify plays, with the title track of her Dye My Hair EP scoring a Number One on iTunes in Finland, a Top 10 single in Germany and plenty of love from BBC Radio 1 closer to home.

Ahead of The Great Escape we asked her to give a shout out to the acts that she’s looking forward to hearing perform. And more specifically, the tunes from these artists that are currently rocking her world. Have a listen…

Dream Wife

Dream Wife are a super cool band. I love the attitude in these songs, they make me wanna go crazy party with my friends. I’m sure their live show will be full of energy!

Julie Bergan

I love Arigato! Been partying to this a lot! And Blackout is a super cool song as well. Can’t wait to hear these two songs live.

I’ve already seen Ray Blk perform at our Annie Mac’s AMP Collected show at Jazz Café in Camden. I love her live sound – it’s gonna be so great seeing her again at The Great Escape.

I just love this song! And I’m excited to hear more songs from Sigrid.

The Great Escape returns to Brighton on May 18th-20th
