Allie X is an infinitely entrancing creative visionary. Her idiosyncratic dark-pop creations have garnered her a great deal of acclaim over the past few years and her latest album Cape God, out next month, marks a powerful and distinct direction with her songwriting and sound. Ahead of the new album, and an extensive headline tour, Allie X tells us about her longing for fresh veg on tour, worst job, and her very cute dog.

Teaming up with Troye Sivan on latest single ‘Love Me Wrong’, the reflective intimacy and potency at the core of her new album Cape God shine through. A shimmering, melancholic pop ballad, the Toronto-based artist’s distinct gothic-tinged intonations offer a brooding, raw vulnerability that reflects this distinctly eerie aura to her new material. Speaking on the upcoming record she expresses, “This feels the most ‘me’ of anything I’ve ever made” further elucidating “If I had to make a mission statement for this record I would say: Cape God is a liminal space I created to explore my repressed feelings and perhaps create a different outcome.”

Alongside Troye Sivan, the album also features Mitski which is an incredibly exciting musical union and we can’t wait to hear more.
