A.O. Gerber evokes a kind of wistful, tender magic akin to Waxahatchee and Angel Olsen. Sublime, shimmering melodies and delicate instrumentation abound intertwining with Gerber’s graceful, stirring lyricism. Today she releases another single from her upcoming debut album. We caught up with the LA-based artist to talk Arthur Russell, scrambled eggs and more.

‘All I’ve Known’ offers an enthralling ethereal elegance. The track sees Gerber craft an intricate sonic tapestry where expansive, swirling guitar riffs meld with delicate harmonies and gently rumbling drums, all of which is adorned with woozy, distorted synth details that gradually flutter into the mix. The second track to be taken from her upcoming debut record Another Place To Need, ‘All I’ve Known’ is a spellbinding track that further lays out Gerber’s resplendent, intimate soundscapes.

@moodymill. Molly Miller is such an incredible guitarist, both technically and as a performer. There’s so much joy and care in her playing and it always brightens my day and inspires me to watch her videos.

The best venue I’ve played…

That’s so tough. There are so many different things to love about a venue. The Bootleg Theater in Los Angeles is such a staple in the music community and has been so supportive. So many artists joke that they live there and it’s kind of true. That feeling of community is really something. (Speaking of which, you should go support them (link here) while they’ve had to temporarily close their doors, if you can!) But playing the Troubadour to a sold out crowd opening for The Wild Reeds—and then getting to watch them completely destroy the room—was a pretty transcendent experience. Also 9:30 Club in DC has cupcakes. So.
