Our friends at Sónar are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year and what better way to do that than a killer Sónar Reykjavík line-up.
It’s no secret that Iceland is a pretty wonderful place to go for a festival, considering it’s a country of around 330,000 people, there are an incredible amount of exciting, innovative festivals happening there. Step forward Sónar Reykjavík, with their eclectic mix of genres and wealth of home-grown Icelandic talent. They’ve made us a playlist to give you a feel for the festival, listen below.
From the festival:
“Sónar Reykjavík music festival has taken place in the Icelandic capital since 2013. The festival is an intimate experience where leading local and international talent perform throughout four stages of the unique Harpa Concert Hall, located by the scenic old harbor area right in the heart of Reykjavik.
When booking the festival we always strive to get cutting edge artists, alongside established names, but we mainly look at three things: music, creativity and technology.
In the line-up for this edition of Sónar Reykjavík, and this playlist, we hope to reflect this. The Icelandic electronic scene is thriving at the moment, and the hip-hop scene as well. There’s a lot of creativity and we hope to combine that with all the big name artists playing this years Sónar Reykjavík, such as Danny Brown and Underworld.”
