The prolific songwriting force of Greta Kline is on her way to this year’s VISIONS festival.

For the fifth year on the trot, VISIONS will return to a variety of venues in London Fields in August. This year, Greta will bring her quartet – called Frankie Cosmos – to the party.

Recently signed to Sub Pop, the band are finally getting the attention they deserve with last year’s album, Next Thing, meaning this summer they’re touring the UK and Europe to spread the word.

The New York City band, comprised of Greta (vocals/guitars), David Maine (bass), Lauren Martin (keyboards/synthesizers/vocals), and Luke Pyenson (drums), are currently working on new material ahead of their Sub Pop debut.

The band grew out of a solo project by the ever-busy Greta. She’s still calling most of the shots with her frank lyrics, pithy songs and the band’s continued interest in clever pop.

But when the quartet aren’t banging out dreamy indie nuggets they practise a variety of other jobs and hobbies including textile design, food journalism, massage therapy, cooking, mixed martial arts, reading, painting, and petting dogs.

We wanted to learn more ahead of VISIONS, so we asked Greta the burning questions. But damn – we didn’t expect her answers to feature a meeting with one of the greatest writers of the 20th Century. Eat your heart out, Kilgore Trout.
